Sovran made his way from the farmland to the beach. Let's go to the beach, beach. This man was on a mission: A mission for a crab. He had been warned about how dangerous the crabs could be, but psh, how dangerous could a crab be? Not more dangerous than him. Jymaiyri deserved the best crab, so she'd get the best.

Good thing he did, since shortly after, it burst forth from the sands and screeched. It was a crab- no shorter than two 2018 Ford Fusions stacked on top of each other, and as long as four of them side to side- and an angry one at that. The knife cracked through the shell- but as he yanked it out, it was entirely dry. The carapace of this crustacean must have been longer than the knife.
Still hurt like a bitch, though. The crab hissed and shot out its crusher claw toward Sovran.

The real stab finally set the crab in to rampage mode. It reached out its giant claw around Sovran's midsection, crushing them together around his spine and guts. Sovran had barely managed raise his hand to let out a burst of fire that, of course, missed the crab. It went into the sky and faded away into wisps of flames.
The man quickly lost sensation in his legs. It was soon after that he lost consciousness.
In a distance, a Remnant appeared. Maia hid behind a tree and watched the scene with teary eyes.

"Sovran!" Yeonaixho called out. It had been a while since the man had left- more than one would think it took to hunt some crabs. And Yeonaixho couldn't shake the feeling something bad had happened, so here he was- with Jymaiyri by his side and Minerva in the baby sling.
"Oh- shit!" Jymaiyri exclaimed once she saw Sovran. "He's injured in the sand, and there's- fuck, that thing's huge." She led Yeonaixho to where Sovran lay in the sand, and went to go fight the beast herself.

Seeing Jymaiyri and Yeonaixho get hit and dodge attacks felt overwhelming. Sovran had meant to get them a meal without putting them at risk, and now, here they were to save his ass.
Sovran shakily got up to his feet and booked it closer to the grab. With a shout, he sent the metal through the weak point in the crab's abdomen and had it exit through the skull.

Sovran panted as he dropped to the ground. He took in ragged breaths of air as he wrapped an arm around his abdomen. It was truly impressive how good of a healer that Yeonaixho was. Sovran's own healing wouldn't have done this good of a job.

Sovran still avoided looking at them. Tentatively, Maia left her shelter from behind the tree. The preschooler still had tears in her eyes.
Offering her a kind smile, the man extended a hand to her. "Come here, kiddo. Everythin's alright."
Maia rushed over and threw her arms around Sovran. Despite the fact that they couldn't touch each other, Sovran knew that Maia would've been hugging him with all of her might.
Gently shushing her, he did his best to make it seem like he was hugging her. Poor girl needed comfort.
